When
you take away everything a person's got, they have nothing
to lose.
Trust me, this
is not a good situation for the oppressed or for the
oppressors.
--
Throughout
Europe (and coming soon to America) politicians are
implementing, what they refer to as, "austerity" measures.
Which basically means that the governments (and banks and
businesses they support) are so much in debt, that they are
passing on their losses to the citizens by raising taxes and
reducing public services.
--
Now one might
accept this concept in a democracy, if the cause was due to
publicly supported policies that drained the treasury.
However, the recent wave of government fiscal failures are
based purely on waste and greed and the largest transfer of
wealth from the working class to the wealthy in the history
of the mankind.
--
And what makes
matters even worse, it comes at a time when the working
people themselves are already in over their heads from a
credit-driven consumerism binge. This makes any further
tightening of household budgets like getting blood from a
stone. In short, New York gubernatorial candidate Jimmy
McMillan has it right when he says, "the rent is too damn
high!"
--
The really
bizarre thing is, that most people (even though they are
suffering) are oblivious to the magnitude of the problem,
and how life-changing it will be for them in a very short
time.
--
People are
consumed with texting, tweeting, writing on people's walls,
chatting, game-playing and watching idiots on YouTube and
TV. It's called diversion, and that's how we got into this
situation.
--
So, what can
be done? Vote for a Tea Party candidate for president in
2012? Sure, if you want. But judging how things have gotten
progressively worse over the past 30 years, I don't see why
any of us should believe promises made by politicians --
political parties rarely ever make good on their campaign
promises. And besides, Congress and the President are
puppets of the special interests that really write the
legislation and run this country.
--
Elections are
yet another diversion that only benefit the stockholders of
the major media corporations that receive billions of
dollars in political ads.
--
So, what's
going to happen? Well, take a break from your cell phone,
high-def-3-D TV, or that trip to the mall, and think about
it yourself... If the price of everything keeps going up,
and less and less is spent on vital services like
infrastructure maintenance, transportation, education,
health services, etc.; then how is our society going to
function when it starts to break down (which already has
begun)?
--
At least a
third or more of the population (100+ million people) are
already suffering. Nearly half of them are either unemployed
or under-employed. Most can barely afford their mortgages or
rents. Most are carrying enormous debt. And many still can't
afford health care and the basic cost-of-living
expenses.
--
When you
further push tens of millions of these people into
bankruptcy, poverty and (eventually) homelessness; you will
see anarchy in the U.S.
--
Sure there
will be attempts at law and order in the beginning, but when
the mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers of the police are
the one's being affected, the prosecutions will cease. In
effect, the numbers of people practicing civil disobedience
will be in the millions -- beyond any government contingency
plan.
--
So, what
happens after that? It just keeps getting worse. You see,
there are no solutions to the problems the corporations and
bankers have created. There once were, but now it's just too
late. They are already printing money to pay off their
debts. Eventually, the currency will become worthless, the
banks will fail, and there will be full-blown anarchy in the
U.S.
--
Scary, isn't
it? It might be a good time to learn to be a little more
self-sufficient and less dependent on institutions and other
people. Try going solar,
growing veggies, home-brewing, etc. Your future survival
just might depend on it. Good luck!
